Data You Provide in a Search
Name, phone, or address values entered into a lookup form are sent to the third-party provider that powers that search. Golden Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the query in its own records. If you send a message through an available contact route, the information in that message is used to read and answer it.
Ordinary Hosting and Log Data
Hosting systems may keep routine server logs such as an IP address, browser type, page request, and timestamp. These logs help maintain security, diagnose broken pages, and understand aggregate use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when those services are present. Log data is not treated as a resident record.
How Information Is Used
Information received through a message is used for the purpose of responding, maintaining the reference, protecting its operation, or meeting a legal obligation. Search providers and analytics or advertising vendors may handle data under their own policies. Golden Residents Directory does not sell a private resident list, create a government roll, or use a message to alter a county, court, voter, vital, or historical record.
Links to Government and Other Sites
Pages link to Jefferson County, City of Golden, Colorado, court, library, museum, archive, USPS, and other external resources. Following a link takes the reader to that organization’s site, terms, cookies, and data practices. Golden Residents Directory does not control those services, their availability, or the information they collect.
Who May Receive Information
Search inputs go to the search provider connected to the relevant widget. Hosting, security, analytics, and advertising vendors may receive the limited technical data needed to provide their services. A public-record custodian receives information only when a reader contacts that custodian directly. No promise is made for a third party’s retention or disclosure practices; consult that party’s policy before entering sensitive information.
How the Reference Is Protected
Reasonable administrative and technical steps are used to protect the files and systems under the operator’s control. No online transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. Do not place a Social Security number, full financial information, protected address, adoption detail, or another sensitive record in a message or search box.
Users Under 18
Golden Residents Directory is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If a parent or guardian believes such information was sent, use the contact route so the operator can review and remove information under its control where appropriate.
Colorado Rights and Public Records
The Colorado Privacy Act, including C.R.S. section 6-1-1306, can provide access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out rights for covered personal data, subject to its scope and exemptions. The Act does not turn every government record into private commercial data or require deletion of every public record. A request about information held by Golden Residents Directory should identify the material and the requested action.
Public-record questions belong with the custodian. The Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. sections 24-72-201 through 24-72-206, governs existing public records and does not override confidential vital, adoption, juvenile, sealed, expunged, protected-voter, or motor-vehicle information. Colorado vital statistics are confidential under C.R.S. section 25-2-117. A correction to a parcel, deed, voter, court, or certificate should go to the office that controls that record.
Updates to This Policy
Services, records portals, and privacy rules can change. A revised policy takes effect when posted here. The date of the current file is the best guide when comparing versions. Questions about this policy may be sent through the Contact page.
