Terms of Use

These terms apply whenever Golden Residents Directory is used. Continued use means the terms are accepted; anyone who does not accept them should leave the reference and its linked search tools.

1. What Golden Residents Directory Is

Golden Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, government portals, libraries, archives, and historical directory collections connected to Golden, Jefferson County, and Colorado. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with any office, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Rules for Using the Reference

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person.
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions about credit, employment, tenant, insurance, or another covered purpose.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale.
  • Interfere with the reference’s operation, security, or linked services.

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

Golden Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following. Information on these pages and information returned by a linked search tool is not supplied as a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links and Tools

Jefferson County, City of Golden, Colorado, court, library, archive, USPS, and other portals have their own terms and privacy practices. Sponsored search tools and other third-party services may set their own prices and rules. Golden Residents Directory does not control their content, availability, security, or data handling.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a statement is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that an outside portal will work or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of the reference or an outside resource. That includes a decision made from a record reached through a link.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Original Text and Design

The original writing, logo, design, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is allowed. Republishing a full page or systematically copying the content is not.

9. Changes to These Terms

A new version may be posted when the reference, services, or law changes. Continued use after the revised text appears means the revised terms are accepted.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms, abuses a page, threatens security, or misuses a linked search service. The operators may act without advance notice.

11. Colorado Governing Law

These terms are governed by Colorado law, without applying conflict-of-law rules. The Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. sections 24-72-201 through 24-72-206, governs the public-record request context described in the reference. The Colorado Privacy Act, including C.R.S. section 6-1-1306, governs covered personal-data rights where its scope and exemptions apply. Those statutes do not make Golden Residents Directory a custodian of Jefferson County records or override a confidential record rule.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
